Thomas V. Desmond serves as principle and managing partner for New England Consulting Partners (NECP). With more than 30 years of experience and expertise, Desmond specializes in turnaround management consulting.  He has the unique ability to discover the sources of opportunity and implement solutions to stabilize and initiate business recovery and growth during times of uncertainty. 

 

Desmond founded NECP in 2001, under his leadership, the company continues to grow and expand as the leading independent business advisory firm within the U.S. With multiple locations across Boston, Dallas, Denver, and Detroit, Desmond has curated an expert team to provide short-term and long-term business analysis, interim management, complex debt restructuring and refinancing, and action plan implementation for organizations in crisis.

 

Prior to founding NECP, Desmond operated a private consulting practice, serving in interim C-suite roles across a wide range of industries and solidifying his track record of successfully securing debt financing for companies in a turnaround situations. He has been instrumental in assessing crisis management situations in public and privately owned companies and acting as an effective liaison between clients and financial stakeholders. In addition, he also spent time working in-house with BDO Seidman, KPMG Peat Marwick, and Fidelity Investments. 

 

Desmond holds a Master of Science in Taxation from Northeastern University, a Bachelor’s Degree from the University of Massachusetts Boston, and a Certificate in Accountancy from Bentley College. He has authored numerous articles as a thought leader within the turnaround sector and is a frequent speaker at industry forums and events. Desmond is an active member of the Association for Corporate Growth and the Turnaround Management Association.

 

Outside of work, Desmond is happily married to his wife Marcie and they are proud parents of their adult daughter Nicole. He is deeply committed to supporting youth athletic programs in the cities that NECP does business.
